Wildlife Rehabilitator
I’m Laura – Master-level DNR and USFWS permitted wildlife rehabilitator based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have been specializing in cottontail rabbit rehabilitation since 2003, but also assist some other species needing care as well.
My rehabilitation work is all volunteer and out of a spare room in my home. I work a full-time, unrelated job. I wake up early and stay up late to feed, medicate, bandage and clean cages for animals in my care. I receive no funding; all aspects of my wildlife rehabilitation is paid for out of my own pockets. I assist the public with hundreds of situations a year through phone, text, and email – guiding them to determine if an animal needs rehabilitative care, is behaving normally, how to reunite a baby with its parent, and how to safely capture and transport a wild animal.
I have given numerous presentations at wildlife rehabilitation trainings or conferences, mentor other rehabilitators, and serve on Wildlife Rehabilitation & Release‘s Board of Directors.
Wildlife rehabilitation is my life’s passion.
